EMPOWERING WOMEN AND GIRLS THROUGH SELF-DEFENCE, CONFIDENCE, AND RESPECT

Guardian Girls Karate is an internationally recognised program designed to empower women and girls through the art of karate. In partnership with the World Karate Federation and UN Women, it promotes safety, awareness, and gender equality, teaching self-defence skills while fostering leadership, resilience, and confidence.

The program offers workshops and classes across Australia delivered by accredited instructors trained in trauma informed practice and situational awareness. Participants learn practical self-defence techniques, conflict avoidance, and personal protection, but more importantly, they develop inner strength, community connection, and self-belief.

Guardian Girls Karate is more than physical training. It is a movement dedicated to creating safe spaces for women and girls, challenging gender-based violence, and building pathways for female leadership within sport.

It is delivered nationally through community centres, schools, and registered karate clubs, providing access for participants of all ages and fitness levels. The program aligns with Karate Australia’s commitment to inclusion, respect, and empowerment.

Participants gain confidence and self-awareness, leadership and communication skills, mental and physical wellbeing, and a sense of community belonging.
